This list includes cases, accessories, some instruments, especially smaller size violins, (mainly 1/2 size and 3/4 size) strings, rosins, music stands, and a whole lot more. Also is a stock of maker's woods, tools and other items of this nature. These items will not be replaced once sold. - Violins:
- A good French violin, circa 1830, Branded internally Remy, Mirecourt, ( the family details are vague at this period). A good violin, in excellent playing condition, recently restored to a high standard, including: new fingerboard, new Aubert Luxe bridge, new Larsen strings, set up, new pegs, and some varnishing work to the head and pegbox. No worm, a lovely dark brown over a golden ground, Price £2850, No VAT. Will include a new case.
- A good English violin, by John Ray,1914 Handmade by John Ray, signed and dated 1914, Kent. Branded by the maker on the back, and table, and internally. A lovely looking and well made violin, set up with Larsen strings, new premium Aubert bridge, and post, varnish original, with some signs of touch-in on parts of the table. Plays well, lovely warm tone, quite a rare maker, sold with new case: £3200. No VAT.

- Gordge Violin case, Prelude model, blue interior, re-conditioned, n.o.s. latch, new zipper, no blanket, good useable condition: Will probably even early 19th C French violins, which are sometimes slightly wider. REDUCED: now £600 excl. carriage. Photos to come
- Viotech violin case, New, handmade in the UK, a direct update of the famous Gordge cases, and made in the same way. Exclusive to us, this one with red velvet interior, canvas cover, with separate music flap, extra padding for the back and top for added cushioning against impact, so slightly deeper overall , fine leather handle, 4 bow holders, accessory compartments, leather tie neck tie-down, the best brass fittings, the highest quality traditional case, designed to last. Note: Some early 19th C French violins are often a little wider so may not fit, these cases are designed to fit standard Cremonese size violins, best to check with us first. £735 excl. carriage. This one lined in blue velvet interior, canvas cover, with music flap, matching blanket, leather neck tie-down, with D rings and strap, leather handle, the best brass fittings, the highest quality traditional case: Note, Early 19th C French violins were often wider in the lower bout, these cases are made for the standard size Cremonese models, so please check with us for fit first. £835 excl. carriage. - Melti, Swiss handmade viola case, originally sold by J and A Beare, pre-owned but in good useable condition, will take up to a 16 1/2" viola, adjustable for size, down to 15 1/4" , with good fitted canvas cover with new main zipper just fitted, Swiss handmade, traditional wooden shell, original specification, with music pocket, 4 bow holders, no blanket or strap. £450 excl. carriage, no VAT . - BAM HiTech, new, with A3 pocket, strap, in the rare 'Fleurs Black' livery, this is the last one in this subtle and beautiful pattern, ( very hard to capture in a photo) no longer available anywhere in the world. Suitable for up to 16 1/4" violas. Now reduced, final reduction, from £635 excl. carriage, to £465 , no VAT.
- Cello cases and covers
- Fiedler Sans Souci, collapsible Cello case in carbon fibre for safe cello air travel. Takes any size cello case, folds down for storage into a suitcase size item, heavy but on wheels, very robust. Possibly the only one in the UK, This cover is ex rental, so bears some marks of travel, but is perfectly strong, safe and useable. - Note: The wood is mainly Bosnian, and some from Switzerland too: Spruce Tops, and fine backs, ribs, 1 pc and 2 pc, ribs, neck blocks, willow corner blocks, for violin, viola, cello. Can be sold in sets, ( see above) Each piece is priced individually, will allow further discounts for quantity or sets purchased, too much to list, viewing possible but an appointment is needed to view. This is my own mature highest grade stock, built up over 50 years, plus the residual stock from the late David Rubio, and Michael Heale.
- Bow hair, various tails:
- Ebony: very black, dense old growth, half logs, very heavy, at least 100 years old , (ex workshop of Clifford Essex, which closed in the 1930's,) to choose from, priced per kg. Cites permit may be needed, which can take a month to obtain, Details on Index page list. Can cut some pieces to size, cutting charge pro rata .
- Blackwood: small part logs, ideal for pipe makers, or accessories, pegs etc. Individually prices, very old, deanse, the best quality.
